Ajuma Foundation was founded by Ajuma Nasanyana, an international model born in Turkana, Kenya and focuses on empowerment of vulnerable women and children in Rural Kenya and Pastoralist Communities.
MISSION & HISTORY.
Ajuma Foundation was founded by Ajuma Nasanyana, an international model born in Turkana, Kenya. She has graced many fashion shows across the globe, featured in editorial work and advertising campaigns. Ajuma has endorsed top fashion designers as well as cosmetic brands making her Kenya’s first supermodel, Akin to Sudan’s Alek Wek and Ethiopia’s Iman. With the level of success and visibility she has been able to attain, Ajuma is chose to use her position to give back to her community.
Together with a group of like-minded women, The Ajuma Foundation focuses on empowerment of Girls and Women with a focus on rural Kenya as well as pastoralist and vulnerable communities. We seek to provide opportunities for women to access the resources and protections they need to change their lives for the better.
